Who looks after your data
evanmiyakawa.com (evanmiyakawa.com) is responsible for the personal information described on this page. You can reach us through email [email protected], or our Contact page or Support page.
What we collect
| When | What we receive |
|---|---|
| You sign up with email | First and last name, screen name, email address, password (kept only as a one-way hash), date of birth, country, your news-email choice, your Play Tokens balance and account dates (joined, last login). We also count failed log-ins so an account can be locked for 15 minutes after five wrong attempts. |
| You sign up or log in with Google | Your name, verified email and Google account ID, which our server checks with Google. You then add the remaining details (screen name, date of birth, country). We never see your Google password. |
| You use the contact or support form | Your name, email, chosen topic, message and, on the support form, an optional game name. |
| You request a password reset | Your email address. We make a single-use reset token (stored only as a hash next to your email) that expires after one hour. |
| You browse the Site | A session cookie and a couple of items in your browser storage (see the Cookie Policy). Our hosting provider may keep ordinary server logs, such as IP address, time and page requested, for security and troubleshooting. |
We never ask for card or bank details, because nothing on the Site can be bought. We don’t use analytics or advertising trackers on our own pages.
What we use it for
- Running your account and Play Tokens balance, and letting you log in (to deliver the service you signed up for).
- Checking you’re 18+ and in a permitted country (legal and safety reasons).
- Replying to you when you write in or ask for a password reset.
- Protecting the Site, for example by limiting repeated log-in attempts and form spam (our legitimate interests).
- Sending news about new games, only if you ticked the opt-in box (your consent). Turn it off any time in My account.
Where it’s stored, and for how long
- Account details sit on our web server in a protected file (there’s no separate database) until you delete your account in My account or ask us to.
- Form messages are emailed from our server, through an SMTP email service, to our support inbox. We keep them only while needed to answer you and handle follow-ups. The server also keeps a short delivery log (date, form type, whether sending worked, any technical error), but never your message text.
- Reset tokens are removed once used or expired.
- Session data (your login state and security tokens) lives on the server only for the length of your session.
Who else handles it
- Our email provider, the SMTP service set up for the Site, which carries form messages and reset emails.
- Google, only if you choose “Continue with Google”. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that step.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the Site’s files and data.
- Game content, loaded in a frame from evanmiyakawa.com, which may use its own browser storage to work.
- Authorities or advisers when the law requires it, or to protect our rights.
We don’t sell personal information.
Data crossing borders
Our host, email provider and Google may handle data in countries other than yours. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards these providers offer under applicable data-protection law.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to see, correct or delete your data, limit or object to how it’s used, get a copy, and withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account yourself in My account. For anything else, get in touch via email [email protected], or our Contact page or Support page (choose “Privacy or data request” on the Support page). You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Age
The Site is for adults aged 18 and over, and we don’t knowingly collect data from younger people. If you think a minor has registered, tell us and we’ll remove the account.
Keeping it safe
Passwords are hashed, account files are stored where the web can’t reach them, and our forms use security tokens. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong, unique password.
Updates
If this policy changes we’ll revise this page and its date.
